Organisers of the 2012 Olympic games have confirmed that much of the so called 'live' music at opening and closing ceremonies will be performed to backing tracks in a move described as 'shameful' by the Musicians Union. Organisers said that that the complexity of the event led to the decision to use pre-recorded music saying it was 'standard practice'.
