Florence breaks foot

Florence Welch, the face and voice of Florence + The Machine, has announced that she broke her right foot while jumping off the stage at Coachella. As a result, the group's upcoming live dates will have to be "stripped back" for the next two months, although they may not be necessarily cancelled. The singer announced the setback in a Facebook post, saying that she was "devastated" by the news that the promotional schedule of new album How Big How Blue How Beautiful, due out on June 2, will have to be rearranged" but added "By the time Glastonbury rolls around I should be back on my feet."

AXS TV to cover more festivals in US

AEG has announced details about US festival coverage that will be aired on AXS TV, the channel in which it has a stake during 2015 and which shares its brand with AEG's ticketing platform, AXS TV broadcast from the second weekend of Coachella earlier this year, and will do so again next April. AXS TV will also be filming content at the Stagecoach, Jazzfest, Rock On The Range and Firefly festivals next year too, amounting to about 70 hours of coverage. AXS TV Founder Mark Cuban said in a statement: "AXS TV is committed to delivering the best in live music, and we're proud to continue that legacy with this groundbreaking line up. Nothing compares to a live music event, and now our audience will get a front-row seat to five incredible festivals, as we bring the ultimate concert experience to our viewers".

Coachella tax threat

Skip Paige, the President of Goldenvoice, the AEG Live subsidiary that produces the Coachella Festival, has said he will move the event, and sister festival Stagecoach, if its current home city, Indio, introduces a new tax on large-scale entertainment events. 


A member of the Indio council, Sam Torres, has proposed a new city tax of 5-10% on ticket revenues for events attended by over 2500 people, which would include both the Coachella and Stagecoach festival ventures, staged at the city's Empire Polo Club.

Coachella headliners named

The Black Keys, Radiohead, and Dr. Dre with Snoop Dogg will headline the upcoming 13th annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, CA. 2012 marks the first time that the festival will be held over two weekends mid-April. More than 100 musical acts have already been booked for the six-day event, which will feature the same lineup on both weekends — April 13-15 and April 20-22. Other confirmed acts include Jay-Z, LCD Soundsystem, Them Crooked Vultures, Muse, Tiesto, Gorillaz, Pavement, Public Image Ltd, At The Drive-In and Refuse.

Coachella doubles up for 2012

After record attendances and fast ticket sales, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is going to double up in 2012, with the 2012 event held as two back-to-back weekends with identical headliners and line ups on April 13th to 15th and April 20th to 22nd at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA.
