Sweden wins EuroVision 2012

Sweden's Loreen was the runaway winner of EuroVision 2012 with 372 points with her track Euphoria, already a number one in four European countries and a hit in ten others. Buranovskiye Babushki - the six strong group of pensioners nicknamed The Russian Grannies - came second with Party for Everyone. With the now legendary block voting in full swing, The UK's Englebert Humperdinck came second last with a rather good song called Love Will Set You Free  (well I thought, so) but it scored a total of just 12, with only Belgium, Estonia, Latvia and Ireland voting for the UK and ended up just one position above Norway, famous for gaining 'nul points' in the annual competition. Jedward, Ireland's entry with Waterline managed 19th place.
