UK government rocks with band aid

The UK Government has provided funding for fourteen emerging bands to promote international success with a new £550,000 fund. The successful artistes including Band of Skulls, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Luke James , Savage Messiah and Smoke Fairies who have been allocated various funding to promote US and European tour support: Liverpool based singer songwriter Charli Taft receives funding to attend song writing camps in Copenhagen, Seoul and LA. The elctro-indie band Metronomy have received funding for US, Canada and Australia and Transition get support for touring in Germany and Switzerland. Bo Ningen, the acid-punk group get funding for performances at a series of US festivals, The bands were picked by Lord Livingston, the former boss of BT, now the Minister for Trade and Investment, guided by a panel of music industry experts, to support UK exports and help bands break into overseas markets.
