Ticket con leads to suspended prison sentence

Martyn Round (27) from Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire has been convicted of fraud after failing to supply £1,500 worth of tickets for The Glastonbury Festival and Beyonce's UK Arena tour - the tickets never existed. Round targeted people who posted 'tickets wanted' notes on the Gumtree website. Round admitted five counts of fraud by misrepresentation and asked for eleven further offences to be taken into account. He received a 16 week prison sentence, suspended forone year, ordered to pay £760 compensation, £85 court costs, £80 victim surcharge and complete 100 hours of community service. He had previously been jailed for 20 months in 2011 on unrelated fraud charges.

Beyonce cancels Belgian date

Amid speculation that Beyonce may be expecting again, the singer has cancelled a show in Belgium (14 May) because of "dehydration and exhaustion". In an email to the Associated Press, the R&B star's press rep said she'd been advised to take a break from playing live, and is "awaiting word from doctors" as regards another planned performance at Antwerp's Sportpaleis Arena on 15th May.

Beyoce bans the smudgers

Beyonce is reportedly banning professional photographers from her entire 'Mrs Carter Show' world tour, which began in Serbia earlier this month. Purportingto be taken from information for media outlets wishing to cover the shows, Facebook page Music Photographers has posted a paragraph of text saying: "There are no photo credentials for this show. Local news outlets, including print and online, will be given a link to download photos from every show. They will need to register to access the photos". Those official photos are apparently all taken by one photographer, Frank Micelotta for Associated Press. The move seemingly stems from  the incident this year in which Buzzfeed posted, and then refused to take down, photographs from Beyonce's Super Bowl performance, which Beyonce’s PR team deemed to be "unflattering".

Sony sues Beyonce filesharer

Sony Music is suing a Swedish file-sharer who is accused of leaking  Beyonce's 2011 album '4' before its release. The man, from Gothenburg, is thought to have links to the music industry,and he also faces a criminal prosecution. Repotrts say that Sony is suing for 1.5 million kronor, or $233,000, claiming that the defendant's actions impacted on its marketing strategy and sales revenue and hindered the major's relationship with Beyonce and damaged her reputation

Beyoncé teams up with Pepsi for $50 million

Beyoncé is to team up with Pepsi as part of a $50 million branding campaign, acting as PepsiCo's creative representative on a series of projects. The singer has featured in various Pepsi ads since 2002 and as part of the new deal she will star in a new advert which will premier at her half time appearance at the 2013 Super Bowl.

X marks Beyonce's spot

Simon Cowell has reportedly offered Beyonce $100 million to star as a judge on X-Factor in the USA. If she accepts, it would be the highest TV salary ever! It seems Cowell is very keen for X-factor US to top American Idol in the ratings - and reports say that Cowell also has Mariah Carey in the frame as a judge.

Beyonce pregnant

Beyonce, who along with Lady Gaga recently made an real impact in the Forbes "Power 100 Women" topped by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, has announced that she is pregant with her and Jay-Z's first child. She broke the news at the MTV VMA's as she posed for photographers on the awards show red carpet saying "I have a surprise," before showing off her growing baby bump for the cameras. She went on to perform Love On Top at the bash, telling the crowd: "I want you to feel the love that's growing inside me." Gaga performed at the VMA's as her 'alter ego', the very male Joe Calderone.
