Bieber cancels final fourteen dates on World Tour

Justin Bieber has cancelled the final 14 dates of his 16 month long 'Purpose' tour which saw the star perform more than 150 shows in 40 countries across six continents. The fnal dates, which were spread across four months and included shows in East Rutherford, N.J., Hong Kong and Singapore, citing only “unforeseen circumstances.” A spkespersn said “Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them ..... however, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.” Last week, Mr. Bieber had been barred from performing in mainland China because of past “bad behavior.

Bieber then hit the news after he bumped into a photographer as he left a church service. The singer was leaving the Saban Theatre in Los Angeles in his pick-up truck when he hit a 57-year-old photographer. Bieber got out of his truck to help the injured man, and paparazzi scrambled around the vehicle to get pictures of the accident. Maurice Lamond later said ""Hour before my birthday hits, I get ran over by Justin Bieber. Isn't that something? He's a good kid, though. I think the truck was a little bit too big for him, though, because there's no way he could see over the front — it was the slope it was on. But like I said, he got out, he was compassionate, he's a good kid, accidents happen." Police say no one was cited or arrested at the scene and there appeared to be no criminal activity involved.

Bowie bidding begins?

According to the Mirror newspaper, Live Nation have made a multi-million pound offer for David Bowie to play East London's Olympic Park. The paper reports the UK's two biggest promoters, Live Nation and AEG, have embarked in a bidding battle to persuade the iconic singer to make a return to the live stage after an eight year hiatus. Bowie is also rumoured as a possible Glastonbury headliner although Michael Eavis has recently said he had lined up three big acts who had never headlined the Somerset 177,500 capacity festival before – Bowie headlined the Pyramid Stage in 2000. Any live dates next year would tie in with the singer's 50th anniversary of his first single 'Liza Jane' released under the name Davie Jones with the King Bees when he was just 17. This year the 66 year old released his first new album in a decade 'The Next Day' sparking hopes of live dates although Bowie has not toured since a heart attack on stage in Germany in 2004.

TOTP show tour cancelled

A new stage show built around the 'Top Of The Pops' brand has been cancelled because of poor ticket sales. Producers hoped to create a generic pop tribute musical show, with singers and dancers reliving moments of the BBC's one time flagship pop programme, with audience members voting on their favourite songs. The stage show was officially sanctioned by the BBC but producer Derek Nicol said "Ticket sales have so far been disappointing and we have taken the difficult decision to cancel the tour. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and wish to reassure anyone who has purchased a ticket that they can obtain a full refund".

Gaga provokes more protests

Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way Ball' tour of South East Asia has hit more problems in the Philippines with Christian groups joining Muslim protests against her concerts. In particular Christians have said that they are appalled by the use of a crucifix in “a very denigrating manner” as were the lyrics as one of her songs “where she is belittling Jesus Christ himself and praising Judas as heroic. It us understood the concerts in Manilla will monitored for any hint of "blasphemy, devil worship, nudity or lewd conduct".    

40,000 fans in the Catholic-majority nation have snapped up tickets of up to 15,840 pesos ($370) each to watch the U.S. singer perform in Manila.
