Morrissey has had a concert cut short in Germany after his concert descended into chaos when revellers invaded the stage. The former The Smiths frontman was performing at the Colosseum Theater in Essen when "a band of overzealous gig-goers jumped up on stage". The 55-year-old tried to continue performing as security personnel rushed to get the offenders back in the pit, before one security guard decided to remove the singer altogether. The concert was then cut short due to safety concerns.

Morrissey cancels remainder of US tour following new health scare
Morrissey has been forced to cancel the remaining nine dates of his US tour, after contracting a respiratory infection. The singers Facebook page expressed "great sadness", while semi-official fansite True To You said it was "unimaginable sorrow". This is the third time in the last eighteen months that Morrissey's health has caused him to cancel live shows. In March last year, he cancelled another US tour due to a variety of medical problems, including pneumonia in both lungs. The singer later revealed that doctors had advised him to retire from performing live altogether. In July, part of a South American tour was cancelled after Morrissey and his security guard contracting food poisoning in Peru, with the remaining dates later pulled due to financial reasons.

Morrissey should crowdsource says Palmer
After a recent interview where Morrissey was bemoaning the fact that labels were no longer interested in releasing his new material, Amanda Palmer has written an open letter urging the singer to follow her lead and to finance a record release via a Kickstarter-style crowdsourcing campaign, advising the somewhat ill of late misery that record labels are no longer needed and that "You have some of the most fanatical fans in the world; caring and devoted people from countries far and wide who would be really, really happy to support you at levels far beyond $5 just to have the songs in their ears. You're possibly one of the best candidates on the planet to use crowdfunding, because of who you are and what you mean".Tuesday, 12 March 2013
