Legendary
American lyricist Hal David, best known for his many successful collaborations
with Burt Bacharach, has died aged 91. With Bacharach his hits included 'Magic
Moments', 'Don't Make Me Over', 'Walk On By', 'I Say A Little Prayer' and 'Do
You Know The Way To San Jose'. The duo wrote for numerous top singers of the
sixties, including Dionne Warwick, Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones and Gene
Pitney, and also began to successfully write hit songs for the movies. David
was also President of ASCAP from 1980 to 1986
