Glastonbury 2013 sells out in under 2 hours

Tickets for the 2013 Glastonbury Festival have sold out in a record 1 hour and 40 minutes. Any returned tickets will be sold in the spring of 2013. Organisers Michael and Emily Eavis posted a notice on the official website saying  " We would like to say an enormous thanks to everyone who managed to buy a ticket - but we'd also like to extend our sincere apologies to the many thousands who missed out.  We're genuinely humbled by the sheer number of people who would like to come to the Festival, and we dearly wish we could have you all along. Sadly, that just isn't possible, which means a significant number of people have missed out. Tickets were being sold throughout the morning - but demand simply outstripped supply."  140,000 admission tickets were sold and the Festival's licensed capacity is 177,500 people including staff, traders, volunteers and performers.
