Anti-gay protests in Malaysia target Elton

Islamic extremists in Malaysia have taken to the streets to protest against a concert by Elton John will "drag Muslims into vice". and will promote "immoral" and hedonistic values. The protests came two days after Sir Elton's show in Kuala Lumper at the 6,000 capacity Arena of The Stars which the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party failed to have cancelled.  Homosexuality is illegal in Malaysia and punishable by up to 20 years in prison. A Lady Gaga concert in the country was cancelled last year after protests.  In Russia, the Duma is examining extending a ban on 'homosexual propaganda' already in place in nine regions including St Petersburg to a nationwide reach. The legislation is apparently needed to protect minors.
