Ravi Shanka

Indian sitar virtuoso Ravi Shankar has died at the age of 92 in San Diego.

Shankar introduced western audiences to traditional Indian music in the 1950's and 60's and played at Woodstock. He introduced the idea of a benefit concert with his Concert for Bangladesh. George Harrison called him the Godfather of World Music.
